Andre on the Issues
Community Safety
Every man, woman, and child deserves to live in a community free of violence and drugs. It's only when we feel safe and free to move about our neighborhoods can we begin to thrive to become our best selves.
Urban Heat Island (UHI) Effect
Metro Phoenix's nighttime temperature on average is 10-15 degrees warmer in the evening than in rural areas during the summer months. Minimizing how much energy is absorbed by building materials (asphalt, cement, structural walls) during the day is key to mitigating the UHI effect on our city.
Public Transportation
Phoenix is the 5th most populous city in the U.S. and is growing at a faster rate than the top four. Increased growth means more vehicles, more traffic, more stress, and less time spent with loved ones, etc.. Continued investment in public transportation such as the light rail and bus system is key to curtailing traffic congestion.
